Friday was hot, hot, hot at Olympia but even so a great, buzzy show. Here are some of the things that made a strong impression on me
- Everything You Know Is Wrong
Yes, I did organize and Chair this seminar but I genuinely believe it was a highly informative and entertaining 75 minutes thanks to our brilliant speakers – Alistair Vince (Watch Me Think), Val Kirillovs (HIM), Noreen Kinsey & Catherine Elms (Future Thinking) plus our star panellists Al Overton (Planet Organic) and Tom Lee (Food Spark). The Future of Free From was given a serious working over, with some surprising outcomes.
- Genius gluten-free baguette
Buy it frozen, stick it an oven for ten minutes and eat. The best tasting gluten-free baguette yet. Plus the wrapper is biodegradeable so it goes in your compost bin. Delicious and sustainable. On sale in Asda now.
- Hufi
Easy-drinking, crisp tasting, gluten-free lager from Poland. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Goes well with football on the telly.
Aless (self described ‘warrior mum’) has done a wonderful thing here, setting up her free-from / functional food company “to offer work opportunities for people otherwise excluded.” Raspbery & Beetroot chocolates taste good and look pretty.
- Mrs Crimbles Wheel Of Fortune
The longest queues at the show were for a chance to win a packet of Mrs Crimble yummies via this enormous spinner. A really simple and effective way of bringing some theatre to a consumer show
