Whole Earth Foods… in pictures!

March 2018

I worked at Whole Earth Foods from 1986 to 1995. I joined as Product Development Manager and left as Development Director. What follows is a pictorial depiction of my life in Park Royal and subsequently on the Portobello Road.

My first Whole Earth business card from 1986 – note absence of mobile, email and fax – just Telex!

Pam Hardiment and I organised this. Whole Earth always gave good parties.
Whole Earth team @ The Groucho. From left to right Anne, Pam, Sam, SW, Craig, James. We never did find out who the guy on the extreme left was – possibly the first recorded instance of photobombing ? I seem to have taken the 1967 dress code very literally – wish I still had that pinstriped velvet suit (an Oxfam find)

The Curse Of The Trade Show Win – When Whole Earth Pasta Pots won Top Product at Helfex (Birmingham NEC March 1988) it sealed their fate…

SW and Wendy Rose personning the Whole Earth stand at Ryton (July 1991)

Some mishtake shurely?

Is that a mullet I see before me ?

Catchy slogan – someone should write a song about it…
Oh you did! Craig Sams’ moment of musical glory (1992).  Only released on cassette and thus massively ahead of it’s time.

Speaks for itself

Waterloo Station 3.10.94 – Organic Breakfast organised by the Soil Association. Then Food Minister John Selwyn Gummer is being force fed croissants and Whole Earth apricot jam by Annie, who was lovely but very posh.

My “office” amongst the bohemian squalor of Portobello Road, Spring 1996

From Natural Products News for April 1998. A very significant development for all concerned!

Community Foods Football Tournament, 11.7.98. We won, absolutely no thanks to me but largely due to the presence of ringers imported by our Ops Manager Sean from his local pub team. Steve Rudkin and Pardeep on the left, SW on right.

The Whole Earth family of brands some time in the mid 1990s
